Greentech Media Names GMP as 1 of 20 Companies on the Cutting Edge of Grid Integration
Colchester, Vt. – Greentech Media, the leading information services provider for the next generation electricity system, just announced its Grid Edge Awards, and named Green Mountain Power as one of 20 companies on the cutting edge of distributed energy and grid integration. For the past three years, Greentech Media has highlighted some of the companies at the heart of this exciting energy transformation with its Grid Edge Award list.
“We are honored to accept this award on behalf of our partners and customers who are working alongside GMP on a new energy future that moves away from the antiquated bulk grid system,” said Green Mountain Power President and CEO Mary Powell. “We are partnering with customers on a new future where energy is generated and used closer to where it is needed in a clean, cost-effective and reliable way.”
Greentech Media praised GMP for being the first utility to bring new technologies to customers, like the Tesla Powerwall, and for transforming Rutland into the “Energy City of the Future” through aligning customer and utility needs.
Awardees are nominated and voted on by energy industry stakeholders, including a team of analysts at GTM Research.
