GMP Announces "Get Smart - Win an iPad!" Raffle for Customers
15 July 2013
Colchester, VT – Green Mountain Power wants its customers to save energy and save money by making use of the hourly electric use data now available on the web to any customer with a smart meter.
Any customer who can demonstrate they’ve used the information to make a meaningful change in their home or business will be entered in a raffle to win an iPad.
“Being able to see – on an hourly basis - when electric use is high in the home or business means that people can make simple changes to bring the numbers down” said GMP spokesperson Dorothy Schnure. “ If you can see that electric use in the office stays high even after everyone has gone home for the day, it gives you the chance to ask: ‘hey – would our use go down if we all shut off our computers at night?’ Or a family can say ‘let’s see what happens to electric use if we replace ten light bulbs with LED or CFL bulbs.’”
Any GMP customer who accesses their use data, gains insight, makes a change, and sends their story to email@example.com between July 15 and August 30 will be entered into the drawing for an iPad. GMP will highlight the best customer stories on their website, Facebook and Twitter.
“Having access to hourly use data on the web is something new, and we want to help our customers get comfortable with finding and using the information” said Schnure. The chance to win an iPad may be the incentive people need to take a look at their data. And by sharing stories about how they’re using their account information to save money, our customers can learn from and inspire one another”.
The contest is not open to GMP employees.
